I just received an email from a pastor in Africa in a small community who told me that he had taken my last email and spent six hours going from house to house to share the encouragement and blessings.The message I sent him was about forgiving and healing. His response was so huge that it really underlines how important our words are that we speak to people. The poor people there were uplifted because I had blessed them in Jesus' name and they believe good things are coming.I used to think prophesying was only taking what you hear from God and telling others. I understand now there is also a prophesying you can and should do for everyone in your life, including yourself. That is blessing them, telling them they are loved and wanted, speaking out what you WANT to show up in their life and claiming it in Jesus' name.If a word of discouragement or anger can prevent a person from reaching higher or fulfilling their destiny, then a word of expectation for success AND APPRECIATION FOR WHO THEY ARE, can really spur them on to greater and higher things.Every good word you prophesy about someone, even if you don't see that virtue or quality in their life yet at this time, HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BECOME REALITY if you speak it and they believe it.Your words are so powerful. We don't understand the spiritual realm and we dismiss the power we have every time we open our mouths. We are literally setting the world on fire when we speak. Demons tremble when we speak healing and deliverance and God is pleased when we worship and praise.Don't dismiss the effect your words have on all those around you. Even when there is no one there! The words echo around the world and NO word returns void. All words establish and build up or destroy and tear down.Are you a builder or a careless destroyer?Lisa Tyler Blessing Meadows
