Grieving

Beloved, I know what it's like to lose someone you love dearly.  There is no one who can fill the place of your loved one.  There isn't supposed to be anyone exactly like him or her.  That's one of the beauties of God's world.  We're all so individual.

Your heart may try to substitute and fill in with many people and things, loves and addictions, but there has to be a better way of dealing with grief.

If you understand that death is not really death, but only separation, and that your loved one still exists, this can help.  You can be reunited with them again shortly.  For you it may seem like forever, but for them, it is but the blink of an eye.  Your job is to concentrate on what is most important and carry on, so that when you ARE reunited, and your life here is over, you will have run the best "race" that you could, and accomplished all that was given to you to do.

I wish that this were the only kind of grieving that existed, or that there were none at all, but we grieve for more reasons than death.  Divorce, betrayal, injury, loss of a career or child, loss of a mate... these are all serious times and can end unpredictably.

I have lived through all of these situations and I can honestly say, beloved, that Jesus helped me through each one.  Not by being a fancy name for some high ideal, but by sending His angels to my side, and having them provide for us and minister to our needs.  And by sending the Holy Spirit to teach us peace and truth.

At the risk of sounding like I'm oversimplifying things, let me just say, you need a friend to talk to, and to put more trust in Jesus.  If there is no one to talk to in person (and people are flawed, so don't always trust their judgment), remember that Jesus hears too, and you CAN talk to Him just as if He were sitting beside you in a chair.

At least, email or write to me, and I'll listen.  I'll help you all that I can, with Jesus' help and by the instruction of the Bible.  Ask God to send you a friend, someone who will help you bear up under the burdens you face.

God bless you!
